Frequently Asked Questions

What is Paintless Dent Removal (PDR)?

Paintless Dent Removal is also known as Paintless Dent Repair, or PDR for short.

It is the process of removing dents from your vehicle without affecting your vehicles original or custom paint condition.

The PDR repair process involves using specialised tools to maneuvre your vehicles metal by applying pressure to the dented area and gently reshaping and molding the metal back to its original condition.

This is all done without using fillers, sanding or respraying the panels, thus keeping your vehicle’s existing factory paintwork intact and within manufacturer’s warranty, hence the name, Paintless Dent Removal!

Paintless Dent Removal is very effective for removing the following types of dents:

– Small to large dents

– Hail damage

– Door dings

– Creases

– Body-line damage

Basically any dent damage which has not severely scratched or cracked the vehicle’s paintwork can be repaired using the Paintless Dent Removal process.

What damage cannot be repaired using Paintless Dent Removal (PDR)?

We are unable to repair dent damage where:

– The dent has broken or cracked the vehicle’s paintwork

– The dent has overstretched the vehicle’s metal

– The panel is severely scratched

– The panel is made from plastic

– The panel has had previous body repair

These types of severe damage will need to be repaired and possibly resprayed using conventional panel shop methods. We will appraise the damage and then advise whether it can successfully be repaired or removed using the PDR process.

Any dent assessed as not being repairable using PDR is brought to your attention and we will be more than happy to refer you to a reputable panel shop.

What are the costs of Paintless Dent Repairs (PDR)?

PDR is typically 50%-75% cheaper than traditional conventional methods of panel shop repairs.

The cost of PDR varies depending on the following 4 factors:

– The number of dents

– The location of the dents (the car panels affected)

– The size and severity (sharpness) of the dents

– The year, make and model of your vehicle

We price the cost of repairs on a case-by-case basis.

How is Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) different to panel beating?

Paintless Dent Removal is more affordable, efficient, and convenient than conventional panel beating repairs.

PDR restores the original vehicle panels without using fillers, sanding or respraying the panels, thus keeping your vehicle’s existing factory paintwork intact. The Paintless Dent Repair process can be completed anywhere from a few hours to several days depending on the severity of the damage.

Panel beaters undertake conventional body repairs whereby they typically replace the entire panel completely, or will repair the dent by using fillers to fill the damaged areas, followed by sanding this area and then respraying the panels. The Panel Shop repair process can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks to perform and is much more expensive than PDR.

How long will it take to fix my car dents?

It depends on the number, size, severity and location of the dents on your vehicle.

Most dents are fixed in a few hours and certainly less than a day.

For more complex repairs, or multiple panels with large dents we will need a vehicle for I-2 days, but these are extreme scenarios. For a car that is covered in dents from a hailstorm it may take only 2-5 working days to have your car looking new again!

Which areas of Sydney do you Service and will you come to me?

Our business is based in Homebush, Sydney. We offer professional dent repair services to all of Sydney and the Surrounding Areas.

For limited scenarios such as smaller repairs on certain panels of the car, we can offer a mobile dent repair service within the Sydney area for an additional fee. If you would like us to come to you, please Contact Us to see if a mobile dent repair service is available for your vehicle’s dent repairs.

Will the dent come back following a repair?

Once we’ve repaired the dent, the panel has the same shape and structure as it did before the dent occurred. This is part of the reason PDR is superior to using filler and paint.

The dent is truly repaired, not just disguised! A dent or ding will only ever come back if the repaired area’s impacted again.

We offer a full Guarantee on our repairs and our quality of workmanship.

Can PDR increase the value of my car before selling or trading it in?

Most people judge a car by its appearance and quite often equate a car’s value based on the level of maintenance and upkeep it may have had.

Removing unsightly dents will improve the car’s appearance and shows it has been well taken care of, which will most likely increase its resale value.

PDR is a great way to ensure you get more money out of the sale or trade in of your vehicle.

Would I save money if I pushed some of the dent out myself?

Attempting a dent repair without experience increases your risk of further damaging the vehicle panel, or even cracking the paintwork on your vehicle and thereby making it impossible for us to attempt a repair later. This will result in further additional expenses to respray and repair your vehicle using conventional panel shop methods.

That said, where possible we prefer to see the vehicle in person at our  workshop as there are a number of factors that we cannot account for from photos, such as sound-deadening material on the inside of the panel or a crash intrusion bar. Moreover, some dents can be so severe we need to physically examine them to determine if they are good candidates for Paintless Dent Removal.
